As of 7 p.m. of April 29, the number of COVID-19 deaths in Quezon City remained unchanged at 125, with the number of cases rising by 10 from the previous 1,259 to 1,269, the Department of Health (DOH) said.
The Quezon City Health Department (QCHD) reported 17 new recoveries, bringing the total to 199 for the same period.
As before, the number of validated cases by the Quezon City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (QCESU) and District Health Offices stood at 926, which differed from the 1,269 tally of the DOH for a difference of 343.
In the same QCHD report, the number of confirmed cases with complete addresses in Quezon City rose by 17 from 1,081 to 1,098.
The active COVID-19 cases in the city -- referring to those alive and have not fully recovered -- is now at 602, 21 more than the previous 581.
Personnel from the city’s Public Affairs and Information Service Department (PAISD) said the breakdown of COVID-19 cases per barangay was still unavailable and will be released by the QCESU onMay 1.
Extreme enhanced community quarantine (EECQ)
Mayor Joy Belmonte said the city government implements the EECQ in barangays with two or more confirmed COVID-19 cases and in various streets and/or in congested urban poor areas where fast transmission is most likely to occur.
However, Belmonte said this will still be subjected to daily review depending on the number of cases/recoveries.
She noted the newly reported barangays with two cases have not yet been included in the list as they are still undergoing validation.
As of 7 p.m. of April 29, the Quezon City government has implemented the EECQ in the following barangays:
Tandang Sora, Kalusugan, Ramon Magsaysay, Maharlika, Tatalon, Batasan Hills, Pasong Tamo, Central, San Roque, Paligsahan, Bagong Lipunan ng Crame, South Triangle, Culiat, Bahay Toro, E. Rodriguez, San Isidro Labrador, Matandang Balara, Teachers Village West, Manresa, Paltok, Sto. Domingo, Bagong Silangan, Holy Spirit, Payatas, Marilag, Socorro, Kamuning, Pinyahan, San Isidro Galas, Commonwealth, Pansol, North Fairview, Novaliches Proper, and New Era.
Hope 1 facility
As of April 29, Hope 1 has 11 available rooms for COVID-19 confirmed and suspected patients.
Hope 2 facility
At present, 36 rooms/beds are occupied by confirmed and suspected COVID-19 patients while 148 beds are still available.
Those who have been tested in the city’s community-based testing are brought to this facility for self-isolation while waiting for their results.
Fresh Market on Wheels
On April 29, Fresh Market on Wheels successfully rolled out to 13 barangays. The program supports local vegetable vendors in the city, while the Fresh Market Pop-Up sources its vegetable supply from partner farmers in Pangasinan.
Quarantine violators
At around 5 p.m. of April 29, 18 persons were arrested for violating the ECQ protocols.
Social Amelioration Program
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), assisted by the city government, has started distributing the financial support to the beneficiaries under the social amelioration program.
On April 29, payouts were conducted in Barangays Commonwealth, Doña Aurora, Doña Josefa, and Valencia.
On April 30, payouts will be held in Barangays Pasong Tamo (partial), Obrero, Blue Ridge B, Unang Sigaw, and West Kamias.
Payouts have been made in Barangays Commonwealth, Dioquino Zobel, Escopa 4, Horseshoe, Holy Spirit, Kalusugan, Mangga, Quirino 3A, Quirino 3B, San Bartolome, San Vicente, Tagumpay, Villa Maria Clara, Batasan Hills, Culiat, South Triangle, and Tatalon.
