DoH: classifications used to refer to COVID-19 patients may be changed
By Rizal Obanil
The Department of Health (DoH) announced on Saturday that the classifications being used to refer to suspected and actual coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) might be changed.
In a Facebook post, the DoH said: “PUM and PUI can be replaced and SUSPECT, PROBABLE, and CONFIRMED will be used. A new classification aims to have uniformed reporting to make our steps more focused against COVID-19.”
The new development was brought about by the approval of DOH Administrative Order 2010-0013 pertaining to the said subject matter.
