Health Undersecretary Dr. Maria Rosario Vergeire said the Chinese medical team will be composed of doctors and nurses.Â
"Sila ay mago-obserba at magbibigay ng rekomendasyon na angkop sa hakbang upang mapabuti ang ating infection prevention and control, critical care, at laboratories," Vergeire said in a press briefing.

The Chinese health experts, who will be in the country until April 19, will visit the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine, San Lazaro Hospital, and Lung Center of the Philippines, Vergeire said.
In a recent statement, the Chinese embassy in Manila said the health experts will be coming from the First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University, Fujian Provincial Hospital, Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Fujian Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention.Â
"They are good at both traditional Chinese and Western medicine, involving COVID-19 treatment, testing, disease control, and other aspects," the Chinese embassy said.Â
Vergeire previously said the DOH was in close coordination with the Chinese embassy since March 19 to invite Chinese health experts to come to the Philippines.
