DOH-8 reports two more COVID-19 patients in Eastern Visayas

By Restituto Cayubit PALO, Leyte – The Department of Health in Region 8 (DOH-8) reported two new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Eastern Visayas on Saturday, June 6. DOH-8 Director Dr. Minerva Molon said that these brought the total number of confirmed cases in Eastern Visayas to 51. Dr. Molon said that the Divine Word Hospital COVID-19 Testing Center released the second batch of results Friday night for 42 laboratory results. Of these, 40 were negative, and two positive, she added. Molon reported that patient EV-50 was a 31-year-old, female, and a locally stranded individual (LSI) from Tacloban City. She is currently in a quarantine facility. On the other hand, Patient EV-51 was a 39-year-old male, and a returning overseas Filipino seafarer from Isabel, Leyte who arrived on a sweeper flight on May 27, the same flight with patient EV-49 from Ormoc City.
