DOH-8 reports new 19 cases of COVID-19

  By Restituto Cayubit PALO, Leyte - Nineteen new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were reported in Eastern Visayas Tuesday night. This was disclosed by Department of Health Regional Office 8 (DOH-8) Director Dr. Minerva Molon, who said that, with the additional cases, the current total of COVID-19 positives in Eastern Visayas has risen to 72. Director Molon said that a total of 195 swab sample results were released by Eastern Visayas Regional COVID-19 Testing Center, based in Tacloban City, wherein 177 were negatives and 18 were positives. She added that the 18 positive results were comprised of six each coming from San Isidro, Northern Samar, and Baybay City, five from Ormoc City, and one from Pastrana, Leyte. They will be tagged as Patients EV-54 to EV 71, the director said In another development, Molon reported, the Divine Word Hospital COVID-19 Testing Center, based in Tacloban City, also released a total of 65 results of which 62 were negatives and three positives. However, from the three positives, two were repeat tests of Patient EV-31 (Baybay) and EV-39 (Tolosa). The new confirmed case was from Calubian, Leyte (Patient EV 72).
