DOH-8 records 42 new COVID-19 cases; Eastern Visayas total leaps to 132

  By Restituto Cayubit PALO, Leyte - The Department of Health Regional Offffice 8 (DOH-8) has reported 42 new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Eastern Visayas, a report from DOH-8 based in this town said here Saturday, June 13. DOH-8 Regional Director Dr. Minerva Molon said that the new cases reported Friday night brought the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Eastern Visayas to 132. This number of cases logged by the Department of Health-Eastern Visayas was the highest number of confirmed COVID-19 cases since the first recorded case last March 23. Molon reported that the new COVID-19 cases reported were tagged as patients EV-91 to EV-132. She further reported that, of the total of 44 confirmed cases released by Eastern Visayas Regional COVID-19 Testing Center (EVRCTC), based in Tacloban City Friday night, 42 were new cases and two were repeat tests of Patients EV-26 from Tarangnan, Samar and EV-45 from Naval, Biliran. She added that the 44 positives came from the 223 sample test results from EVRCTC where 179 yielded negative results. And of this new batch of COVID-19 positives, 17 came from Alangalang, Leyte, and 11 from Dagami, Leyte.
