Sotto, in a Facebook post shared the latest development to his constituents. “Good news! Inaprubahan na ng DILG and Pasig LGU guidelines para sa operations ng mga tricycle (The DILG has approved Pasig’s guidelines on tricycle operations),” the Pasig mayor’s post read.
The local chief executive recognized the need for public transportation especially since under the MECQ some business establishments will be allowed to operate. “Magiging malaking tulong ang mga tricycle para masolusyonan ang kakulangan sa mobilidad ng mga empleyadong Pasigueño sa paraan na may social distancing pa rin,” Sotto said in his post.
(Tricycles will be a big help to address the need for mobility of our employees in Pasig in a manner that still adheres to the rules on social distancing.)
To help netizens understand the new development, an infographic was used. It can be recalled tha Sotto, at the onset of the implementation of the ECQ, expressed concern over the ban on tricycles.
The Pasig mayor then was particularly concerned with how their frontliners will be able to reach their destination if tricycles, which are often the primary means of transportation, are not allowed to operate.
