The Department of Foreign Affairs on Sunday reported 55 new cases of Filipinos abroad who have tested positive for COVID-19.
Department of Foreign Affairs (MANILA BULLETIN)
This puts the total number of Filipinos abroad with confirmed cases of COVID-19 at 335 as of March 29.
While the deaths remained at four, the total number of Filipinos undergoing treatment has increased to 220.
To date, 111 of these Filipinos have recovered and/or have been discharged from various hospitals abroad.
The COVID-19-affected Filipinos are situated in at least 30 countries and regions worldwide.
“The 19.64 percent increase in the confirmed cases can be attributed to the number of new cases reported in the Asia and the Pacific and Europe regions,” the DFA said.
It added that the disparity in figures verified by DOH indicates strict patient confidentiality rules in some countries and regions.
