DFA: 8 new COVID-19 cases, 6 new deaths among overseas Filipinos

The Department of Foreign Affairs has recorded six new deaths and eight new confirmed cases of COVID-19 among overseas Filipinos in its latest tally.

Based on infographics released by the DFA on Sunday (April 5), the six Filipinos who perished of COVID-19 were from the Americas and the European regions, bringing the total number of deaths to 49.
To date, 132 overseas Filipinos have recovered or have been discharged from various health facilities worldwide.
The confirmed COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad are listed as follows: Asia-Pacific, 214; Europe, 183; the Middle East and Africa, 55; and Americas, 72.
With these developments, the DFA said it is intensifying efforts to safely repatriate Filipinos abroad who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
