DFA: 15 new deaths, 18 new recoveries among coronavirus-struck Filipinos overseas

By Roy Mabasa The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has recorded 15 deaths and 18 recoveries among overseas Filipinos directly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Department of Foreign Affairs (MANILA BULLETIN) Department of Foreign Affairs (MANILA BULLETIN) Based on reports it gathered from the various embassies and consulates around the world, the total number of Filipinos abroad with confirmed COVID-19 cases is now 757. Of the total, 414 are undergoing treatment, 240 have recovered or were already discharged from hospitals, and 103 died due to the virus. The Asia Pacific Region recorded the most number of overseas Filipinos with COVID-19 (271), followed by Europe (236), the Americas (158), and the Middle East and Africa (91). The DFA expressed its commitment to support the global and national efforts against the coronavirus disease and to assist Filipinos abroad who are suffering due to the global pandemic.
