DAVAO CITY - Davao region has recorded 21 new cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19),, bringing the total number of infections to 526.
In its Regional Situation Update, the Department of Health in Davao region (DOH-Davao) said, as of 5 p.m. Sunday, the DOH Davao Center for Health Development (DCHD) reported eight new cases from Davao City, seven from Davao de Oro, five from Davao del Norte and a new case from Davao Oriental.
The youngest of them was a seven-year old girl from Barangay 23-C in Davao City, and the oldest was a 63-year-old woman from the same barangay.
A 52-year-old woman from Barangay 23-C also died on Sunday, bringing the total number of COVID-19 deaths in the region to 32.
Meanwhile, the DOH said 10 new recoveries were recorded with nine patients from Davao City and one from Davao del Sur.
Among those who recovered from the disease were a 16-year-old boy and a 14 year-old girl who are both residents of Barangay 22-C here. They were both asymptomatic and were admitted last June 14.
Currently, the region has recorded 356 successful recoveries.
