DAVAO CITY - The Department of Health Davao Center for Health Development (DOH-DCHD) reported on Monday afternoon three additional cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Davao region, which now has a total of 529 cases.
The DOH Davao region said the three patients, who tested positive, were among the 59 persons who were tested for COVID-19. It added that all the new cases were from Davao del Norte.
As of 3 p.m. on Monday, the Provincial Health Office of Davao del Norte confirmed two of the positive cases.
One of them was a 34-year-old female overseas Filipino worker from Tagum City, who arrived last June 24 via sweeper flight.
The other one was a 53-year-old woman from Panabo City, who was a locally stranded individual (LSI). She arrived via a sweeper flight from Manila last June 26.
The DOH said out of the 529 cases of COVID-19 logged in Davao region, 26 percent or 138 of these were active cases.
Meanwhile, the DOH in Davao region also reported one death bringing the total of fatalities to 33 people.
Two other persons, one from Davao City and another from Davao de Oro province, have also recovered on Monday. The region reported that there are currently 358 successful recoveries.
