DAVAO CITY – The city government here has established a database for persons who have been stranded either in this city, or residents who have not been able to return here due to the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

Mayor Sara Z. Duterte said, in an interview with 87.5 Davao City Disaster Radio, they already released the contact details for the Davao City Stranded Persons Database Center (DCSPDC) for its residents and non-residents who have been unable to come home due to travel limitations because of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
According to her, the DCSPDC has already listed at least 1,200 Dabawenyos who are still stranded in various parts of the country, waiting for the chance to get home. Nevertheless, Duterte said the Davao City government was will to send them assistance while they wait out the quarantine restrictions.
Duterte said affected people may send their information details to DCSPDC through text message to 0956-2441-691 and 0951-0868-056 or through email at [email protected].
She said for Davao City residents, who have been stranded outside of the city, they need to send vital information, including personal details and the circumstances that they are currently in.
The mayor, however said, as of the moment, the city will still not allow its residents to come home because based on the recommendation of the epidemiologists and infectious disease specialists, the available quarantine beds in the city still could not accommodate a new wave of infections.
“Bisan unsaon pa nila’g kasuko diha, kung dili mosugot ang doctor wala gyud ta’y mabuhat kay nag-submit naman mig protocols (Even if they will get angry to us, if the doctor will not approve we have nothing to do with it. We already submitted protocols for this ),”she said.
Non-residents who are stranded inside the city, need to send their name, date of birth, mobile number, address in Davao City, since when in Davao City, home address, city or municipality and province, purpose of being in Davao City persons travelling with and their relationship.
She said there are local government units (LGUs), like Davao Oriental and some in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). that have expressed their willingness to take back their residents currently stranded here.
Duterte said the city will just arrange the process on how they will ferry their residents from Davao City going to their areas.
