The total number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in the country rose to 631,320 on Tuesday, March 16, after the Department of Health (DOH) recorded 4,437 new cases.

The DOH also reported 166 new recoveries and 11 new deaths.
This means there are now a total of 560,736 recoveries and 12,848 fatalities.
The DOH said there remain 57,736 active COVID-19 cases in the country.
Of the active cases, 92.6 percent mild cases, 4.0 percent asymptomatic cases, 1.3 percent critical cases, 1.3 percent severe cases, and 0.68 percent moderate cases.
"Ten duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, three are recoveries," said the DOH.
It added that four cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
The DOH said seven labs were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS) on March 15, 2021.
