Cotabato Regional Medical Center receives PPEs, masks, gloves, medical supplies from BARMM

COTABATO CITY - The Cotabato Regional Medical Center (CRMC), a major coronavirus patient referral outfit in both Bangsamoro and Central Mindanao regions, has received much-needed medical supplies and equipment from the regional autonomous government.

“Isang hulog ng langit itong tulong mula sa BARMM (Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindana) dahil our supplies are already dwindling. Wala kaming mabilhan. May supplies from Davao (region) kaya lang nasa customs pa hanggang ngayon,” Dr. Helen Yambao, CRMC chief administrator, said on Wednesday.

Yambao expressed her gratitude shortly after she and her staff received the packages of misting tent for disinfecting patients and health workers, reusable personal protective equipment (PPEs), surgical and n95 masks, examination and surgical gloves, face shields, alcohol and other supplies from BARMM officials here.

BARMM’s Inter-Agency Task Force (ATF) spokesman Mohammad Pendatun turned over the packages to Yambao as her outfit’s share from initial medical supplies and equipment purchased from Metro Manila by the autonomous government in its fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

Pendatun said the donations were airlifted by a Philippine Air Force C-130 plane on Tuesday, adding that their task force would also dispatch other supplies to provincial health hospitals in Sulu, Basilan, Tawi-Tawi, Maguindanao and Lanao del Sur.

He said Tuesday’s delivery was initial segment of substantial supplies and equipment the BARMM-IATF contracted in purchase orders with suppliers in Metro Manila.

“We expect more deliveries in the next days as the Philippine Air Force heeded our pleas for the transport from Metro Manila of our ordered requirements,” the BARMM’s Bureau of Public Information (BPI) quoted Pendatun as saying.
