The Commission on Elections (Comelec) adjusted the timelines for the verification, certification and posting of the voters list for the May 2022 polls.

In Resolution No. 10758 dated Jan. 26, the Comelec cited the delays in the delivery of several supplies needed for the said activities as reason.
"Due to the delay in the delivery of the continuous forms, A4 papers, and toners needed by the field offices in the printing of Posted Computerized Voters List (PCVL) and Election Day Computerized Voters List (EDCVL) printing by the Information Technology Department (ITD), the schedule of the approved activities will be adversely affected," it said.
The Comelec said the adjusted schedule for the conduct of verification of the names of voters and certification of the PCVL shall be not later than March 24, 2022.
As to the posting of the verified and certified PCVL, the poll body said, this shall be made not later than March 29, 2022.
Based on the calendar of activities previously released by the poll body, the last day for the Election Registration Boards (ERBs) to meet to certify the EDCVL is on Feb. 3, 2022 while the last day to post the PCVL is on Feb. 8, 2022.
Under the law, the Comelec is mandated to prepare and post the certified lists of voters 90 days before the holding of a regular election.
The Commission has the authority to designate other dates for certain pre-election activities "if it should no longer be reasonably possible to observe the periods and dates prescribed by law for certain pre-election acts."
