Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año belied reports on Friday that the entire Central Visayas has been placed under the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).

In an interview with DZBB, Año said only Cebu City was placed under ECQ.
Only Cebu City is under ECQ, while Talisay City in Cebu is under MECQ. Other areas in Visayas are already under GCQ),” Año said.
Año added that other areas in Central Visayas, like Bohol, can already shift to Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ).
The COVID-19 situation in several cities in Central Visayas is being managed wel. But they wish to remain under GCQ because they want to limit the movement of people),” Año said.
Año said the government will conduct the next assessment on cities and provinces by the end of the month.
