Alden Richards, Alodia Gosiengfiao, and Myrtle Sarrosa were among celebrities recognized at the just concluded Philippine Esports Awards.
In his speech, the Kapuso actor expressed gratitude for the acknowledgment.
Note that Alden Richards won the Gaming Community Positive Influencer Of The Year award against nominees Wise Gaming, Alodia, CongTV, OhMyV33Nus, and Tryke Gutierrez.
Alden couldn't be thankful, pointing out it was his first-ever award as a gamer.
He then recalled how he got his start as an e-sport player and how it affected his life.
"Gaming has done something in your life na hindi nagawa ng ibang aspeto or ibang bagay sa buhay niyo. That's our (the gamers) common language," he said, relating how the form of competition became his "outlet" amid his busy schedule.
"Gaming is life-changing," he added. "I'd like to believe that e-sports changes lives. It changes lives every day."
Recall that last year when the actor and gaming enthusiast founded his Myriad Esports.
Meanwhile, vlogger Alodia echoed the same thing.
When she accepted her Content Creator of the Year award, the pioneer gamer and cosplayer admitted how it still feels surreal.
On Facebook, she added how truly humbled she is by the recognition.
"Because tbh I believe there are so much more creators way better than me but I’d thank everyone who has been supporting the gaming industry over the years. It always feels surreal to see how the community has grown and I’m still pretty excited as to what would come next! More power to fellow creators!," she said.
Note that her Blacklist International has snatched the “Organization of the Year” award.
It is the multi-gaming organization under Tier One Entertainment, a gaming and esports talent agency that she founded in 2017 along with Tryke and Brian Lim.
On the other hand, former "Pinoy Big Brother" housemate Myrtle also penned an appreciation post for bagging the “Cosplay of the Year” award.
The seasoned cosplayer-gamer-turned-actress-singer related that the award is not only for her but for her entire creative team.
"Every single week of 2022, we were Cosplaying 1-2 times a week out of passion and honestly it’s a dream to keep doing the very thing I’ve been dreaming of doing and I am extremely grateful to everyone who has supported all my cosplay content thru the years," she said. "Beside me are friends in esports and gaming that have inspired me a lot @alodia - Content Creator of the Year. You know how much I love you Ate Edj! 🥹 And @aldenrichards02 as the Positive Influencer of the Year - a person who I am happy to have played with in multiple games."
She noted how cosplaying and gaming definitely helped her break out of her shell and inspired her to live a life filled with "positivity, creativity, happiness" and ultimately to live life like her favorite heroes, legends and champions-like an adventure aiming for their dreams.
