Starting Thursday (June 18) at 6 p.m., Purok 4 of Lower Bicutan will be under ECQ, along with Purok 5 and Purok 6 which will be under localized lockdown starting Wednesday (June 17), at 6 p.m. All three areas will be on lockdown until July 1.
The City Epidemiology Disease Surveillance Unit (CEDSU) said there are seven cases of COVID-19 in Purok 4, eight in Purok 5, and 10 in Purok 6.
As of June 16, Taguig has 585 confirmed COVID-19 cases, an increase of 12 cases from June 15. The total includes 53 cases in Lower Bicutan, which has the second highest tally among the city's barangays.
Taguig’s safe city task force, in coordination with CEDSU and the barangay, will cordon the areas to brief residents about the lockdown and testing will be done on identified persons.
Families in Purok 4, 5, and 6 will receive stay-at-home food packs to encourage residents to stay home and refrain from going out to buy supplies.
Essential workers living in the three areas will be given certificates stating that their homes are on lockdown, which may be presented to their employers to request for alternative work arrangements.
Under ECQ, all residents are barred from going out of their homes except when buying essential goods. They need to present their quarantine pass when going out.
Employees of establishments providing essential goods and services who are residents of the three areas will be allowed to report to work.
The Taguig City government said it may lift the ECQ before July 1 if the areas are clear of COVID-19 infection.
