TACLOBAN CITY - Catbalogan City Mayor Dexter Uy has issued an executive order declaring an enhanced community quarantine in the city effective Sunday, March 22, until April 15, 2020, or unless revoked or extended due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
The order will also suspend all sea, land, and air transportation within the capital city of Samar province.
"In order to assist medical, security, government personnel, essential workers and the general public with a home-quarantine pass, a point-to-point bus system facilitated by the city government will be provided with an identified schedule and routes," he said.
Only medical personnel, accredited media, military and uniformed personnel, and personnel from nearby LGUs transacting official business in the city for relief operations following the protocols are allowed to enter the city.
The entry of shipments or deliveries of basic commodities shall be allowed, while transit of vehicles carrying passengers and observing social distancing are allowed to pass via diversion road only.
Only one person per household will be given a quarantine pass to purchase food. He is also required to wear a facemask and must comply with the one-entrance, one-exit policy per barangay.
All businesses that are not ordered closed shall be allowed to operate until 8 p.m. only, except those that will be allowed to operate for 24 hours such as hospitals, gasoline stations, and pharmacies.
Sale, purchase, and consumption of liquor shall be prohibited until the Public Health Emergency subsists.
