Caritas Manila send disinfecting kits, food packs to Manila parishes; requests donations

By Leslie Ann Aquino  Caritas Manila will provide "Ligtas COVID-19" kits to poor families in Metro Manila to help protect them from coronavirus disease.  Each safety kit includes alcohol, face masks, antibacterial liquid soap, Vitamin C, reusable gloves, liquid bleach, cleaning cloth, among other items. Aside from the kit, the relief agency will also provide food bags to poor families affected by the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon. In a statement, Caritas Manila said it is already repacking the relief goods and organizing the Social Service and Development Ministry teams in their partner parishes in Metro Manila.  "We have started sending the Caritas Ligtas COVID-19 kits and Caritas Manna food bags to partner parishes and communities today," their statement read. The social action arm of the Archdiocese of Manila appealed to the public to support their campaign by donating.  "Let us continue sharing our resources to the most vulnerable in the COVID-19 pandemic - the poor and the elderly," Caritas Manila said in their statement. "No one should be left behind as we fight COVID-19 with charity and bayanihan!" As of March 19, Caritas Manila has been able to raise P6,049,777.06 for their Ligtas COVID-19 campaign.
