BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Health-Center for Health and Development (DOH-CHD) tallied 14 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in Caraga region Saturday night, July 11.
“DOH Caraga reports today (July 11), 174 RT-PCR (reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction) results received from Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) and Davao Regional Medical Center (DRMC) sub-national laboratories,” it said.
Of the results received, 135 were negative, while 39 were positive for the COVID-19 virus.
The negative RT-PCR results were from seven suspect cases from Caraga Regional Hospital, Agusan del Norte Provincial Hospital, Butuan Medical Center and Butuan Doctors’ Hospital; five probable cases from the Agusan del Sur quarantine facility, and 123 results from high-risk individuals who either have turned positive in the rapid antibody-based test, or with relevant travel and exposure to COVID-19.
Of the 39 samples that came back positive for COVID-19, 25 were follow-up tests of previously confirmed positive cases, while 14 were new cases.
Of the 14 new cases, eight were locally stranded individuals (LSIs), while six were returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs).
All cases were asymptomatic, and were admitted and isolated at designated quarantine facilities region-wide for monitoring and management, DOH-CHD report said.
To date, Caraga region has a total of 190 confirmed positive COVID-19 cases.
Out of the 190 confirmed cases, 90 have already recovered from the virus.
