The Caloocan City government announced on Friday that two areas have been placed under lockdown due to Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) surge in the city.
Kingstown 2 and Queensville in Barangay 171 have been placed under lockdown from Monday (March 22) until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday (March 28).
"Kailangan muna nating limitahan ang galaw ng mga residente sa dalawang subdivision upang hindi na lumaganap ang sakit. Sa loob ng pitong araw na lockdown ay magsasagawa tayo ng mass testing, misting at disinfecting operations (We must first limit the movement of residents in the two subdivisions so that the disease does not spread. During the seven-day lockdown, we will conduct mass testing, misting, and disinfecting operations)," Mayor Oca Malapitan said.
The city government will distribute food boxes for the residents in the said areas.
As of Friday (March 19), Barangay 171 has 61 active COVID-19 cases.
