The son of Caloocan City Mayor Oca Malapitan, Councilor Enteng Malapitan, tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the Caloocan public information office confirmed Monday.
In a Facebook post, the younger Malapitan said: "I am sad to inform you that I tested positive for COVID-19."

“I have already accepted that part of my job is the possibility that I could catch the virus due to continuous interaction with my constituents. Since before I got tested, I have already been practicing physical distancing,” he added, “But I’m still encouraging those who got in close contact with me since March 15 to undergo self quarantine as well.”
But the younger Malapitan gave assurance that he and his family, including Mayor Malapitan and Caloocan Rep. Malapitan, “are in good condition and under home quarantine.”
“Even before this, we have already social distancing and we live in different houses,” he added.
