The Bacoor City government ordered on Wednesday, April 22, the total lockdown of Barangay Molino III for seven days, starting 12 a.m. of Friday, April 24, to safeguard the citizens following the reported high number of COVID-19 cases in the area.
Lani Mercado-Revilla
City Mayor Lani Mercado-Revilla issued Executive Order No. 16 Series of 2020 that set the week-long lockdown ending at 11:59 p.m. of April 30.
The April 30 lockdown end can still be extended, depending on the village situation.
The decision was reached after Revilla conferred with the local Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID) about the situation in Molino III.
Molino III has the biggest population among Bacoor’s 73 barangays (villages).
Bacoor has a total of 66 confirmed COVID-19 cases, the highest among Cavite’s cities and municipalities.
Out of Bacoor's 66 cases, 12 reportedly came from Molino III.
While under total lockdown, residents in Molino III are required to observe a 24-hour curfew and the strict stay-at-home policy.
The village’s entry and exit roads will be closed and barricaded by the Bacoor police, the city government said.
Drivers of incoming and outgoing vehicles would have to coordinate at police-manned checkpoints in the areas.
Residents are not allowed to go in and out of the village unless on errand for food, medicines and other urgent household needs.
The city government said that the IATF-MEID also authorizes movement of government employees who will check in at Bacoor’s community quarantine and those transporting confirmed and suspected patients to community isolation facility and hospitals.
A new Quarantine Identification Pass will be issued for households “with very limited use,” the city government said.
Accessing food and non-food supplies should be arranged by alternative means such as the Molino Online Market delivery, Mercury drug delivery system, SM Watsons, Mobile Palengke and other rolling stores in various subdivisions within Barangay Molino III.
Public transportation vehicles such as franchised tricycles, PUJs, PUVs, and UV Express shall not be allowed even when used for personal purposes.
Liquor, gambling and other illegal activities and mass gatherings or crowd-gathering activities are strictly banned in the village during the lockdown.
