The statement came after San Miguel Corporation (SMC) Infrastructure, Metro Pacific, and Ayala Corporation all agreed to waive toll fees on all its expressways during the enhanced community quarantine.
“This is to show our appreciation to medical frontliners for their dedication and commitment to provide essential services as the country fights the coronavirus disease,” the North Luzon Expressways (NLEX) Corporation said in a statement released Sunday morning.
“We hope that through this program, we are able to help and give back to our heroes fighting COVID-19,” it added.
Frontline health workers who wish to avail of the free toll in the said expressways must present their Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) IDs and secure the toll-free Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) sticker or have their current RFID stickers enrolled in the program.
For Metro Pacific expressways, which include NLEX, Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressways (SCTEX), Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), Cavite Laguna Expressway, C5 South Link, and NLEX Harbor Link, enrollment and installation of the RFID stickers will be done at the NLEX Balintawak Customer Service Center and CAVITEX Customer Service Center on Mondays to Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Meanwhile, for SMC expressways, including STAR Tollway, South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), Skyway, NAIA Expressway (NAIA-X), and Tarlac-Pangasinan, La Union Expressway (TPLEX), this can be done at the Shell Magallanes Station and NAIAX Toll Gate from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
