BUTUAN CITY - The regional office of the Department of Health-Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD) on Friday afternoon reported eight new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in Caraga region.
“As of June 12, 2020, DOH Caraga records eight new RT-PCR (reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction) confirmed COVID-19 cases in the region,” said the DOH-CHD, in its latest advisory issued on Friday afternoon.
The new cases were returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs) and locally stranded individuals (LSIs) who arrived in Caraga region from June 4-8, it said.
As of Friday, Caraga region has a total of 22 COVID-19 confirmed cases.
DOH-CHD said the eight new cases were part of the 62 specimens forwarded to the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) sub-national laboratory for confirmatory testing.
“Always adhere to the health standards advised by the DOH and your Local Government Units (LGUs),” DOH 13 Regional Director Dr. Jose R. Llacuna, Jr. said.
“Containment measures are continuously being done thus let us coordinate with one another. If going outside is unnecessary, then, better stay at home,” he said.
