62 more hospitals, medical centers get PPEs from office of the VP

(OVP / MANILA BULLETIN) The personal protective equipment sets delivered to 62 hospitals and communities have brought the total number of PPEs to 23,475 as of Tuesday night, according to the OVP. Robredo’s office said the PPEs were turned over to hospitals in the capital region such as UST Hospital, Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital, Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital, Valenzuela Citicare Medical Center, Novaliches General Hospital, and National Center for Mental Health. Also included were Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Pasig Doctors Medical Center, San Juan City Hospital, Ospital ng Muntinlupa, Ospital ng Parañaque, World Citi Medical Center, FEU Hospital, and Manila Doctors Hospital, among others. In addition to these, the OVP likewise gave PPEs to the Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center in La Union and the Bondoc Peninsula District Hospital in Quezon. “Ito ay tugon sa mga requests na ating natanggap sa gitna ng ating assistance drive (This is in response to the requests we have received as part of our assistance drive),” Robredo said in a Facebook post. The protective gears were the latest aid provided by the OVP to support health workers who are on the frontlines in combating the spread of Covid-19. Medical professionals and personnel, both in private and public hospitals, have suffered from the shortage of PPEs due to the rising global demand. Robredo’s office has so far raised P28.8 million from its 2020 budget and from public donations, which could buy 64,367 PPE sets for Covid-19 frontliners.
