619 ECQ violators arrested in Cordillera

By Zaldy Comanda CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – The Police Regional Office-Cordillera (PROCOR) reported the arrest of 619 individuals for violation of the strengthened enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in the region, which started March 15. Of the arrested individuals, 429 were seized for violation of the curfew hours with 24 cases filed in court, while 25 were caught for disobedience of persons in authority with 10 cases filed in court. PROCOR data showed that the Baguio City Police Office recorded the most number of individuals violating the curfew and disobeying police officials with 177 arrests, followed by Benguet PPO with 137, while Mountain Province recorded 78, and Abra PPO with 37 arrests. Police conducted 717 operations that resulted in the arrest of 165 individuals for Hoarding, Profiteering, Overpricing of medical supplies and essential goods or items. Mt Province PPO arrested the highest number of violators with 97 arrest followed by BCPO with 67 arrests while Benguet had only one arrest.
