The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Sunday reported only one new confirmed COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) case, 11 new recoveries, and one new death among Filipinos abroad.
In its latest tally, the DFA said these cases were monitored in the Americas and the Middle East.
To date, the total number of COVID-19 cases among overseas Filipinos is now at 6,141, those discharged or have recovered at 2,862 while those undergoing treatment at 27,83.
The total number of fatalities is now 496.
Meanwhile, the Philippine government has brought home a total of 51,113 overseas Filipinos since the repatriation began in February 2020.
Based on a report released by the DFA, it showed that 57.33 percent (29,302) are sea-based and 42.67 percent (21,811) are land-based, with the latest repatriates arriving from Japan, Norway, Oman, Saudi Arabia, UAE, USA, and Vietnam yesterday, June 20, 2020.
This week, the Philippine government chartered four flights carrying 1,464 repatriates from Lebanon, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Macau SAR.
Meanwhile, a total of 30 stranded Filipinos from India and Sri Lanka returned home safely onboard BRP Davao Del Sur on June 12, 2020.
