Thirty-seven new COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) cases and 11 new deaths among Filipinos abroad were reported by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) as the total number of confirmed cases in its latest tally has climbed to 6,128.

Of the latest figures it received from the Foreign Service Posts (FSPs), the DFA said six new cases of recoveries were monitored in two countries in Asia and the Pacific and the Middle East.
The new fatalities were recorded in two Middle East countries.
Of the 6,128 total confirmed COVID-19 cases among overseas Filipinos, 2,849 have been discharged or recovered, 2,796 are still undergoing treatment, and 483 have succumbed to the disease.
Middle East remains the region with the biggest number of Filipino fatalities due to COVID-19 with 223; the Americas with 164; Europe with 94, and the Asia and the Pacific with only 2.
"With the hope our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, had for the future of this nation, DFA continues to tirelessly serve and assist our nationals in this time of pandemic, bringing home Filipinos affected by the COVID-19, wherever and whenever possible," the DFA said in a statement.
