In a statement released Wednesday, DPWH Secretary Mark Villar said the department will turn over the masks to Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital, National Kidney & Transplant Institute, Philippine Heart Center, Philippine General Hospital, Lung Center of the Philippines, and Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center.
The surgical masks came from donations from DPWH's contractors and consultants, Villar said.
The department also reported that it has received additional donations from two corporations on Wednesday.
Task Force Head and Undersecretary Emil Sadain said CCCC Highway Consultants Co., Ltd. donated 19,000 surgical masks and 1,000 N-95 masks, while Hillmarcs Construction Corporation donated 200 gallons of disinfectant alcohol.
These donations will be turned over to frontline health workers and DPWH personnel who are involved in the construction of "We Heal As One" centers, or isolation facilities for COVID-19 patients.
