TACLOBAN City – A total of fifty-four (54) police mobile force personnel were sent by the Eastern Visayas Police to augment the Police Regional Office 7 in Camp Sergio Osmeña in Cebu City, in support to the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine in Central Visayas Thursday (June 18).
Eastern Visayas Police Director Brig. Gen. Bernabe Balba said 52 police non-commissioned officers (PNCOs), and two Police Commissioned Officers (PCOs) will augment the police forces in PRO7, as directed by directed by the Philippine National Police Chief Gen. Archie Gamboa.
"The PRO8 team will be led by PMaj. Vicente Bullecer Jr. They were briefed and were given a rapid test and other health check requisites by the Regional Health Service 8 (RHS 8)," he said.
They were also given face shields, washable and surgical face masks, gloves, alcohol, and multivitamins.
The team proceeded to Ormoc City from where they traveled to Cebu City via Lite Shipping Ferry.
“As we battle with this pandemic, I am one with the burden being faced by the Police Regional Office 7 where frontliners, especially a large number of the police force are now busy performing their mandated duties. As we heal as one, we responded to the request of the National Headquarters to send an augmentation to PRO7. My only prayer is that our troop will come back here safe and sound,” Balba said.
