The Department of Health region 2 is optimistic that the youngest victim of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Cagayan Valley region – five-year-old girl patient PH1333 – will fully recover due to her stable condition now.
Department of Health Region 2 Dr Leticia Cabrera had earlier announced the latest confirmed positive COVID 19 in Cagayan Valley region through the Philippine Information of Agency (PIA) Region 2.
The girl was brought to the Rural Health Unit in Alfonso, Castaneda last March 16 with coughs and fever, and was diagnosed with upper respiratory infection.
But on March 22, she complained of difficulty of breathing, and edema. She was referred to a hospital in Cabanatuan City where a swab test was conducted on her the next day.
On March 27, she was discharged from the hospital asymptomatic, but a day later, Cabrera got the confirmation that the girl was COVID-19 positive.
As such, as of 8 a.m., DOH Region 2 reported that it now has 15 COVID-19 positive cases, with Cagayan having six cases, Isabela, 4; and Nueva Viscaya, 3.
