4 Sinovac doses spoiled but PNP's 1st round of vaccination is done
The Philippine National Police (PNP) has completed its coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccination for its medical frontliners using the 1,200 doses allocated from the China-donated Sinovac.

Of the total vaccine allocation for the PNP, only two doses are left while four of them were spoiled, according to Lt. Gen. Lorenzo Eleazar, deputy chief for Administration and concurrent commander of the PNP Administrative Support.
"The spoilage is due to bubbling/crystals in the vial which is a manufactural defect," said Eleazar.
Eleazar said that on the first day of vaccination on March 1, a total of 125 PNP personnel were vaccinated followed by 180 on the next day. On March 3, a total of 253 PNP personnel were inoculated, a total of 327 on the next day and on March 5, a total of 100 personnel received the jabs.
The official said all those who were vaccinated are classified as medical frontliners as they are assigned to the hospitals and quarantine facilities for PNP personnel who got infected by the coronavirus.
PNP personnel are in the priority list in the government's vaccination program but due to the limited supply, Eleazar said they prioritized the medical personnel of the PNP since they are more prone to infection compared to other personnel.
During the five-day vaccination proper, several PNP personnel did not show up but were quickly replaced by substitutes who were placed on standby during the vaccination.
Based on the PNP data, more than 75 percent of its 219,000 personnel have signified interest in getting vaccinated. The PNP currently maintains a list of those who would be vaccinated for the next rounds of vaccination.
