BACOLOD CITY - Thirty-three persons under monitoring (PUMs) in Negros Occidental have completed their mandatory 14-day quarantine at Mambukal Mountain Resort in Murcia town this week.

According to the provincial government, these individuals left the quarantine facility after they tested negative for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) through the real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test.
Last Thursday, 15 students from the University of the Philippines-Visayas in Miag-ao, Iloilo province were sent home to their respective towns and cities after completing the quarantine period from May 5 to May 21.
According to the students, they were forced to stay in their school after Iloilo declared a lockdown last March 16. They expressed their gratitude to the provincial government for coordinating with their school so they can go home.
Last Wednesday, 18 persons who were among the 68 returning residents in the province, stranded in Manila due to travel suspension brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, were also sent home.
The frontliners assigned in the resort were also thankful to the cooperation of all PUMs during their stay at the facility.
At present, there are only four individuals left at the resort who are under observation, pending their RT-PCR test results.
