3 online sellers of overpriced alcohol, sanitizers nabbed in Zamboanga City

By Nonoy Lacson ZAMBOANGA CITY – Elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), together with personnel from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in this city, arrested three persons during an entrapment police operations for selling overpriced alcohol and sanitizer products online. CIDG Chief Police Colonel Tom Tuzon identified the arrested online sellers as Arnel Salih Santos, 33, resident of Sitio Talungun, Barangay San Roque: Arman Graciano Plateros, 32 of Barangay Vitali: and Maria Azha Solis Arroyo, 32 of Zone 3 Barangay Guisao, all in this city. Tuzon said his operatives and personnel from  DTI here conducted a buy-bust operation in Sitio Talungun at about 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, after receiving information that an online seller of alcohol and sanitizers was selling the products overpriced. Confiscated from the suspects were 120 plastic bottles of Green Cross alcohol with no-sting sanitizer; six plastic bottles of 150 ml hygienic alcohol and  25 plastic bottles of  150 ml  Casino Ethyl alcohol containing 70 percent solution. Tuzon said the suspects violated the law on the protection of consumers by stabilizing prices of basic necessities and prime commodities against undue price increase during emergency situations. The suspects are now detained at the CIDG detention facility pending the filing of charges against them in court.
