ILOILO CITY – The Western Visayas region has recorded three more positive cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
In a COVID-19 bulletin released Saturday evening, the Department of Health (DOH) said it has now recorded 16 positive cases in the region with the three additional cases.
The region’s 14th case was a 28-year-old man from Bacolod City who recently travel to the United States.
The region’s 15th case was a 41-year-old female from Negros Occidental province with history of travel to Manila and Davao City. She was said to have underlying conditions, including hypertension and asthma. She is presently in stable condition.
The region’s 16th case is a 70-year-old male from Iloilo province. Unlike the two new cases, he had no recent travel history. The man has been suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and diabetes. He is presently admitted at a hospital.
As of Saturday, Bacolod City has the most number of positive COVID-19 cases in Western Visayas with five. It is followed by Iloilo province with four positive cases.
There are also three COVID-19 positive cases in Aklan province, two in Iloilo City and one in Capiz province.
Antique and Guimaras provinces still do not have positive COVID-19 cases.
