SAN RAFAEL, Bulacan – Three men suspected of hoarding huge volumes of alcohol were arrested by the Bulacan Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Barangay Kaingin in this town, Sunday, March 22.
In a report sent to Acting Bulacan Police Director Colonel Lawrence B. Cajipe, the CIDG identified the arrested suspects as Marvin Balmores Verdillo, 27; Jose Rafael Yamson de Guzman, 36, and John Patrick Enriquez, 32.
Based on the report of Bulacan CIDG, undercover police were able to transact and order 73 plastic containers of one-liter Isopropyl alcohol with
Verdillo for the price of P220 per liter for a total amount of P16,060.
The price was way beyond the P125 to P130 per liter Suggested Retail Price (SRP) as mandated by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) for the same product.
Cases for Violation of RA 7581 as amended by RA 10623 (Price Act), Violation of RA 7394 (Consumer Act) and Violation of Section 7 RA 11332 (hoarding, profiteering, selling and refilling) against the arrested suspects are now being prepared for filing in court.
