DSWD Region Director Marites Maristela said the emergency subsidy will be in addition to the regular cash grant amounting to P750 and rice subsidy of P600 subsidies for April and May.
Maristela said the additional subsidy was being made in pursuant of Republic Act 11469 or the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act.
Maristela said the beneficiaries will receive the top-up amount in two tranches in addition to their regular cash grants.
DSWD had earlier declared the implementation of cash grants of 4Ps for reasons of “force majeure” for the months of February and March, which were later on extended for the months of April and May.
Maristela explained that the amount that they will receive will be based on the minimum wage in the region which will be the projected allocation of budget to buy food medicines, hygiene essentials and other basic essentials.
