2 repatriated OFWs in Negros Occidental test positive for COVID-19

BACOLOD CITY - Two more repatriated overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) here and in Negros Occidental tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Bacolod health authorities reported on Thursday its 16th confirmed COVID-19 case, a 43-year-old male seafarer from England.
Based on the record of the City Health Office (CHO), the patient was asymptomatic with hypertension. He is currently quarantined in a facility here.
The patient departed from England on April 22, 2020, and arrived in Manila the following day.
He was first quarantined at a facility in Pasay City, and was subjected to a rapid test and real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing on April 23 and May 12, respectively, with negative results.
He was also transferred to another quarantine facility in Makati on May 13, and left Manila on May 19.
He arrived here via 2Go Malasakit Voyage on May 20. His swab samples were taken in a quarantine facility on May 26, and thje results came out positive on June 4.
Meanwhile, a 31-year-old female OFW from Murcia town was the 11th COVID-19 positive patient in the province.
She had travel history to Hong Kong. She arrived in Manila on March 28.
Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said that the patient tested negative in her swab test in Manila.
“It’s possible that she got it along the way,” he added.
Lacson said that the patient was asymptomatic, and was currently quarantined at the healing center in E.B. Magalona town.
