TACLOBAN City - Two new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were logged by the Department of Health (DOH-8), bringing the total number of cases to 344 in Eastern Visayas, as of Thursday, June 18.
These came from a total of 265 laboratory results released by the Eastern Visayas Regional COVID Testing Center here.
Of the 263 negative results, 37 were from the Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center (EVRMC) here that was still not accepting admissions and referrals while it was undergoing decontamination, while the rest were from the different municipalities in the region.
The new cases will be tagged as Patients EV 343 and EV 344.
Patient EV-343 was a 26-year-old male health worker from Tacloban City. He will be added to over 30 medical frontliners infected by the dreaded virus in the region.
Patient EV 344 was a 27-year-old male locally stranded individual (LSI) from Manila, and a resident of Biliran, Biliran.
Biliran Governor Rogelio Espina said the patient was asymptomatic. He arrived from Manila last June 12 on a private vehicle, and is currently under quarantine.
"Health protocol is applied and contact Tracing now underway," Espina shared.
Meanwhile, the Divine Word Hospital has released a total of 76 negative laboratory results.
