By Ali Macabalang COTABATO CITY – The Bangsamoro autonomous government, though its Rapid Emergency Action on Disaster Incidence (READI) team, has brought relief goods in two jail facilities intended for the consumption and use of over 250 inmates. PHOTO VIA ALI MACABALANG/ MANILA BULLETIN The READI team turned over 30 50-kilo bags of rice, six cartoons of coffee, six cartoons of corned beef, three cartoons of canned sardines for 250 inmates at the city and Maguindanao provincial jails, both located at the Pedro Colina here, on Sunday, group media liaison officer Myrna Jo Henry said. City Jail Warden Faridah Ali and Maguindanao Provincial Warden Ato Dimananal received the relief goods from Naguib Sinarimbo, READI program administrator and Minister of Interior and Local Government (MILG) of the regional autonomous government, Henry said. She said the relief goods were also coupled with substantial volume of fresh vegetables and tropical fruits alongside 250 face masks, eight boxes of paracetamol medicines, and 200 pieces of bath soaps. The READI team’s relief mission at the two prisons followed an earlier call by the Bangsamoro region’s Ministry of Health (MOH) to craft specific guidelines focused on the welfare of jail inmates in the current campaign against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
