18 airports now open for commercial flights

ABADILLA Airlines have scheduled commercial flights at 18 airports in the country the other day after Local Government Units (LGUs) allowed the commercial operation of airports in their respective areas. The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) list of operational airports include the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Clark International Airport, Mactan-Cebu International Airport, Davao International Airport, Puerto Princesa International Airport. Domestic airports now open include those of Romblon, Naga, Legaspi, Catarman, Languindingan Dipolog, Pagadian Masbate, Cotabato, Zamboanga, General Santos and Tacloban. However, while some airports are allowing commercial flights, these are still subject to different documentary and passenger Local Government Unit (LGU) restrictions. The list is also subject to change daily, depending on coordination and conditions imposed by LGUs. Local airlines maintain they support the government in its effort to manage the public health situation, including the opening of airports. The airlines are coordinating with LGUs to iron out commercial flight schedules and hope to mount as many flights as possible for essential travelers, especially those who wish to fly back home to their provinces. They reiterate that flight schedules are fluid during this time as authorities implement necessary health measures. Affected guests are notified automatically via email and text.
