DAVAO CITY - The Department of Health Davao Center for Health Development recorded 15 additional cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Davao region on Sunday.
The DOH said the region now has a total number of 756 confirmed cases, with 265 still active cases.
The health department said out of the new cases, 14 were from Davao City and one was from Davao de Oro.
The DOH Region 11 has yet to release the profiles of the latest cases recorded on Sunday.
However, the provincial government of Davao de Oro on its Facebook page said the additional case was a 34-year-old woman who was stranded in Manila from March 11.
It said the patient, who was applying for a job abroad, stayed in Sampaloc, Manila. On June 15, she was transferred to the Army Gym in Parañaque where she stayed until June 25.
She left Manila on June 25 with the help of the Philippine Coast Guard, and arrived in Davao City on June 30.
The patient underwent swab testing on July 9. She is currently admitted at the Davao De Oro Provincial Hospital in Montevista town.
The DOH has also recorded nine new recoveries, eight of which are from Davao City and one from Davao de Oro.
The region now has 456 successfully recovered patients and 35 deaths.
