Of the 17 local government units (LGUs) in Metro Manila, 15 have completed their Social Amelioration Program (SAP) payouts, serving over 1.54 million low-income and non-Pantawid Pamilya families, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said on Thursday, May 21.
DSWD-National Capital Region (NCR) Regional Director Vicente Gregorio Tomas said as of 10 p.m., May 20, a total of 1,547, 549 families got their SAP aid, amounting to more than P12.26 billion.
The number of SAP beneficiaries is 99. 29 percent of 1,558, 615 target low-income, non-4Ps families targeted to receive the cash subsidy in the NCR, he noted.
"The number of beneficiaries who received SAP Grants is 1,547,549 families or 99.29 percent, equivalent to 12,268,456,000 pesos," he said in a text message.
The amount of cash subsidies distributed in the NCR is 98.39 percent of P12,468,920,000 downloaded to the 17 LGUs, 16 of which are cities.
Tomas said the 15 LGUs that registered 100-percent SAP payouts are Caloocan, Marikina, Valenzuela, Pasig, Parañaque, Manila, Pateros, Mandaluyong, Malabon, Pasay, Las Piñas, San Juan, Muntinlupa, Navotas, and Quezon City.
While, Taguig's SAP distribution is 99.39 percent, and Makati, at 84.82 percent, he noted.
He said the two LGUs that submitted partial liquidation reports were Marikina and Caloocan.
The DSWD transferred P12.46 billion SAP funds to 17 LGUs to benefit 1,558, 615 target low-income, non-4Ps families in the NCR.
The breakdown of the P12.46 billion SAP funds dowloaded to Metro Manila LGUs is as follows: Manila, P1.485 billion; Quezon City, P3.020 billion; Caloocan P1.726 billion; Las Piñas, P541.9 million; Malabon, P335.048 million; Makati, P558.30 million; Mandaluyong, P368.37 million; Marikina, P449.88 million; Muntinlupa, P430.68 million; Navotas, P223.82 million; Parañaque, P621.39 million; Pasay, P370.28 million; Pasig, P750.93 million; Pateros, P53.65 million; San Juan, P130.47 million; Taguig, P739.77 million; and Valenzuela, P661.66 million.
