1,483 curfew, liquor ban violators reported in Cavite

By Anthony Giron IMUS CITY, Cavite – A total of 1,438 individuals have been arrested for violating the curfew hours or liquor ban in the last three days in Cavite province’s eight districts in connection with the enforced enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in the areas. Police reported that there were also apprehensions made in the areas on Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning, but the violators have yet to be documented and the number accounted. Those arrested from March 21 to 24 involved mostly violators of the 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew and the liquor ban that were imposed with the stricter implementation of the ECQ in the province, starting March 20. Governor Jonvic Remulla issued the Provincial Executive Order imposing the curfew hours, liquor ban and other special laws that will be enforced together with the ECQ. The executive order was issued to make sure that citizens stay at home for the duration of the quarantine, and observe social or hygienic distancing. sanitation and other measures to prevent the transmission of the virus. In his last three Facebook messages under #TigasUloPaMore, Remulla reported out the number of violators arrested in operations that were conducted by the police and barangay officers in the province's eight districts or seven cities and 16 municipalities. Remulla's March 24, 22 and 21 reports showed that there were 691, 586 and 161 individuals held, respectively, or a total of 1,438.. According to the March 21 report, 161 arrests were made in three cities and seven municipalities. Imus had the most number of arrests among the cities and municipalities with 116 and 111, based on the governor's March 22 and 24 reports.
