GENERAL TRIAS CITY, Cavite - Fourteen cops who underwent a targeted coronavirus disease (COVID-19) testing for frontliners were found positive for the virus, the city government confirmed on Thursday, June 25.
The police officers are currently in an isolation facility while the City Health Office conducts contact tracing.
With fewer cops on duty, the local police requested augmentation from the Cavite Police Provincial Office to maintain peace and order in the city.
Issuance of Philippine National Police (PNP) clearances such as travel authority is suspended as the authorities arrange an online application system to be launched next week.
As of June 25, the city has 54 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 25 recoveries and five deaths.
