13 more COVID-19 cases reported in Eastern Visayas

By Marie Tonette Marticio TACLOBAN City - A total of thirteen (13) new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases were reported by the Department of Health-Eastern Visayas coming from the Eastern Visayas Regional COVID Testing Center (EVRCTC) on Friday, June 19. This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases to 357 in Region 8. A total of 324 sample results were released by EVRCTC wherein 311 were negative and 13 were positive. The cases were distributed in the following areas: one each from Caibiran, Biliran (Patient EV 345); Villareal, Samar (EV-346); Bato, Leyte (EV-354); Tanauan, Leyte (EV355); La Paz, Leyte (EV356) and Jaro, Leyte (EV-357); and four from Tacloban City (EV 347 to EV350). Meanwhile, the municipality of Palompon had three confirme cases, while San Miguel, also in Leyte, confirmed its first COVID patient. The Divine Word Hospital Virology Laboratory, which is also located in this city, has yet to release its swab results.
