11 presidential aspirants on Comelec's tentative list of candidates

Eleven presidential aspirants made it in the tentative list of candidates for the May 9,2022 National and Local Elections.

There were 15 presidential aspirants in the previous list.

Based on the list posted by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on its website, the 11 presidential aspirants are the following: Abella, Ernie; Arcega, Gerald; De Guzman, Leody; Domagoso, Isko Moreno; Gonzales, Norberto; Lacson, Ping; Mangondato, Faisal; Marcos, Bongbong; Montemayor, Jose Jr.; Pacquiao, Manny Pacman; and Robredo, Leni.

For Vice President, the nine aspirants in the list are: Atienza, Lito; Bello, Walden; David, Rizalito; Duterte, Sara; Lopez, Manny; Ong, Doc Willie; Pangilinan, Kiko; Serapio, Carlos; and Sotto, Vicente Tito.

Sixty-four senatorial aspirants also made it on the tentative list. Among them Binay, Jojo; Cayentano, Alan Peter; Colmenares, Neri; De Lima, Leila; Diokno, Chel; Ejercito, Estrada JV; Escudero, Chiz; Estrada, Jinggoy; Honasan, Gringo; Hontiveros, Risa; Matula, Sonny; Teodoro, Gibo; Tulfo, Raffy; Villanueva, Joel; Villar, Mark and Zubiri, Migz to mention a few.

"Please be informed that the Tentative List Aspirants/Candidates for the May 9, 2022 National and Local Elections are based on the initial evaluation of the Certificates of Nomination, Certificates of Candidacy and Certificates of Nomination and Acceptance. Consequently, the contents of the list, particularly the names of the aspirants/candidates, political parties, as well as the name to appear on the ballot are subject to change as a result of any further evaluation and/or resolution of the Commission En Banc in relation thereto," the Comelec said in its website.

The updated list is as of Jan. 5.

The Comelec is eyeing to start the printing of official ballots this month.
